The Mission District - New Song

Montreal pop band The Mission District have a brand new song, "Dancing All Alone," up on their Myspace, written to address teen bullying and in light of the great number of recent teen suicides. Fans are invited to interpret the song in their own way and make a video for it - all videos will be posted online. They hope to get the song on itunes soon and give a portion of the sales to an organisation helping youths dealing with bullying.

The band have been recording new material but have been keeping fans in the loop via blog tv sessions, where they chat and preview new songs. They currently have no tour dates, and it is hoped by many that they return to the UK soon.

My Major Company

A new scheme allowing fans to invest in artists of their choices has been launched in the UK by a record company, after success in Europe with something similar. My Major Company, started by three label scouts two years ago, lets people put as much money as they want on a band from the website in the hope that they'll 'make it'.

Once a band reaches £100k in investment, they will be able to record and release an album to a professional standard while the label, artist and investors get revenue back.

Find out more information on the My Major Company website. An article on this from The Sun can be read HERE.

We wouldn't usually include an already established artist on here, but Example is such a wicked guy and part of the ridiculously strong British urban music scene at the moment.

The Broadcast

I have personally seen The Broadcast a fair few times and the pop rock quartet are a strong recommendation. A band that gig tirelessly and visibly put their all into every show, The Broadcast have supported bands such as The Mission District, Twenty Twenty and My Passion as well as selling out venues on their debut headline UK tour back in April, which was followed up with a successful June tour. With ridiculously infectious tunes, their sets are packed with a passion and energy on a scale rarely seen by other bands and have secured The Broadcast an army of loyal fans. However, while progressing onto bigger and better things all the time, the band remain some of the most down-to-earth and lovely guys you could meet.

Twenty Twenty - 'The "FANttASTIC" Tour'

Brothers Sam and Jack Halliday, along with Essex boy Sonny Watson-Lang make up Twenty Twenty, the band on everyone's lips at the moment as they have a ridiculous year, supporting the likes of McFly, Selena Gomez and Scouting For Girls and playing at the O2 Arena alongside such established acts as Tinchy Stryder and The Saturdays. Twenty Twenty have written with David Rancourt, Josh Wilkinson and the people behind Alphabeat as well as recording their album with Sam Preston.

However, the band still put fans first, hanging out with them at shows and having many online chats. They also had a camera in-studio as they recorded their album so fans could be with them every step of the way via Blog TV.

8th Time Luckie

South West London band 8th Time Luckie have already caused a stir with their infectious pop-punk. Formed in 2008, the band have played alongside notable acts such as You Me At Six and Attack! Attack! and have secured a large fan base both home and abroad. Their 7-Track EP 'Please Turn Over' is packed with singalong anthems that also show a maturity and longevity often unseen in other bands of the genre and their live show is strongly recommended.

We Need YOU

Of course, we couldn't be a company without YOU GUYS and we want you to get involved as much as possible.

BANDS

- Hit us up with anything you want promoted and we'll stick it on our pages; we often do this without being asked anyway.

- You guys have an influence, so promote us and we can promote you and other bands better!

- As we're just starting out, if you had any knowledge on design, printing, promotion and putting on gigs, we'd be extremely grateful for the help.

- Just get in touch, we love hearing from you :)

FANS

We'd like you guys to be as much a part of this as we are, and we're grateful for any help. There's no end to things you can do including:

- Get the word out there about us so we can promote the bands you love.

- Recommend new bands to us.

- Help us out if you have skills/knowledge that we could do with.

- We'd love to publish your gig or music reviews on this blog, and we'd give you full credit of course, simply email us your review.

- Send us any videos or photography from gigs- again, we'd give you full credit.

Thanks for all of your help guys :)

Legally Rough

Hi, we're Legally Rough.

I figured we should do an introductory post about who we are and what we do, so here goes.
We're basically two girls, Anya and Tasha, who decided to make a company on a boring car journey around the Kingston area (really setting the scene here).

Seeing as we have no contacts, no experience, no equipment, no IDEA how to start or run a company, we're literally winging it and hoping to have a blast along the way ;)
So basically when we act like we're not taking it seriously, we're really just worried about our lack of skills, however with people's help and support, and our perseverance, we really hope something will come of this.

ANYWAY, WHAT DO WE DO ?
Well we're a clothing and promotions company. We're not sure which side to work on at the moment and we're in the early stages of both clothing designs and promotions but we hope to flourish in both sides of the company.

Apart from the clothing aspect, we are basically about spreading the word for unsigned or smaller bands, anything from retweeting their tweets to video interviews. Of course we will need promoting so we have some influence, however we're always happy to get the word out there :)

For now we're in the early stages, but in the future we will hopefully be getting a lot more interviews done, collecting reviews from people and even putting on gigs, as well as promoting our own apparel and maybe endorsing some bands.

So all that's left to say is, GET IN TOUCH !
....and helppp ?

Tasha and Anya x
